Full Moon falls on June 23, 2013 at 11:32 UTC (6:32 a.m. CDT in the US)
Thus, for many, the moon appears about as full in the June 22 evening sky as it does on the evening of June 23. This full moon is not only the closest and largest full moon of the year, it also presents the moon's closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013. The moon will not be so close again until August, 2014. in other words, it's not just a supermoon, it's the closest supermoon of 2013!
Supermoon and it's effect on us:
In this corner we have a Capricorn Moon! And in this corner we have a Cancer Sun! It's Capricorn Moon vs Cancer Sun!!
Prepare yourself for an emotional time! Although this is a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships, the Cancer-Capricorn polarity demands balance between our private life versus our public
Cancer represents emotions, attachments & love, private life, the need for a home base, and nurturing; whereas Capricorn represents public life, career, reputation, and achievements!
We will need to find a balance between these two energies, and this is what this Full Moon pushes us to do. As with all Full Moons, this is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon.

ReplyDeleteThis full moon coincided with my birthday, i am a cancer sun capricorn moon also. Not long after this moon a study was released observing the moons cycles and its relationship with melatonin secretion from the pineal gland. This moon began a journey that opened up many archetypal images, emotions amd synchronicities for me as time has progressed since. 'Until you make the unconscious conscious it will appear outside of you and you shall call it fate'. As a cap moon it is fitting that he came bearing his thyrsus :).
