Laughing Out Loud

"I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh.
It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person."
( Audrey Hepburn)

Laughter is truly the best medicine.  According to the researchers  regular laughter in your life could help decrease your chances of becoming ill--especially stress related illness.  They recommend 15 minutes of laughter a day as well as regular exercise to reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease.  A positive outlook on life and having a good laugh is much more than keeping your heart healthy.

The sound of laughing out loud not only reduces stress and makes you feel better, it benefits those around you.  Laughter is contagious. If you had occasion to be sitting with someone who has the giggles in church or board meeting, you know how contagious laughing can be. Whether it is a stifled giggle or a powerful laugh--those around you will absorb its energy.  The act of laughing out loud immediately lifts your mood, projects positive energy outward, elevating the energy of the space around you.

Seek out ways to laugh daily.  Try watching a funny video, read a funny story, or swap jokes with friends.  Become a carrier of laughter--infect those around you! Find the humor in everyday situations and share the sound of laughter through the day.  Notice the shift in your mood when laughing out loud or hearing the sound of others laughing out loud.

Moon in Leo

The Moon is in Leo today and the world is our stage, our feelings are grand, and we appreciate some drama in our lives. We feel warm, generous, and love the spot light! We are easily threatened by anything that seems to be impersonal. However, beware of impulsiveness or becoming too temperamental and touchy.Overly hasty or rash actions taken now could rebound on us, some healthy risk-taking could simply help us to break the routine and get us out of a rut.

10 Minutes may be all you need-voice or chat. Ready yourself for what is coming up next. Who will you love? Where will you find income? Who will you replace? I can read for what you can expect to see happen with the next few days out to 6 months. "Keeping it short, and to the point."

Declare a Fun Day!

The Moon is in the warm, generous, loving sign of Leo all day today. Plan to have fun, play, entertain, and get noticed. This is a time when we seek attention--when we want to stand out for our special qualities.

Think back to when you were a child.  Embrace the sweetness of these sentimental memories of being a child. Recall that time when life had just begun.  Fondly remember the wonderment of being a child, the sights and sounds of play, and the simplicity of being a child.

Now is the perfect time to be a child again--declare a fun day! To have fun, make snow angels, build a snowman, crack the ice on top of mud puddles, sip on a mug of hot chocolate while counting  the icicles hanging from the roof--use your imagination!

Become that free spirit you were as a child, that pixie, that wild child of days gone by.!  Declare today a fun day and let your playful side emerge!  Build a fire in the fireplace, bring on the marsh mellows, the forbidden chocolate, and graham crackers--make smores and tell stories!  Today is a fun day!
I will be available for phone & chat sessions throughout the day and evening.

Great Date Ideas in St Louis

Ideas for Great Dates in St Louis

What’s not to love about falling in love in St Louis? There’s Union Station, Cardinals baseball, Blues & Jazz, the Muny, the Fabulous Fox Theater and free or inexpensive things to do every day – if you know where to look. Dating fun that is anything but run of the mill is easy in St. Louis a city filled with culture, entertainment, and excitement.

The secret to creating a great date that lets your date know you heard what s/he likes is using cues from conversations to plan a date that creates a connection.  For example, your date mentions loving creative activity dates.  Plan an afternoon or evening at the St. Louis City Museum to let your imagination run wild or Upper Limits for a fun and exciting rock climbing adventure.

2)  Spend a night out on the town
Looking for a fun night out? Head downtown to Washington Avenue or Laclede’s Landing and take your pick of some of the hottest bars and dance clubs in St. Louis (most are smoke free and open till 3 a.m.). Visitors can also go for dinner, drinks and a show at Westport Plaza’s 42-acre entertainment district, or check out the trendiest boutiques and upscale dining establishments in Clayton and the Central West End. If live music is your thing, Soulard boasts some of the best blues venues in town.

3)  Get your head in the game
Sports fans rejoice! During the spring and summer seasons, you can cheer on our 11-time World champions the St. Louis Cardinals at the new Busch Stadium. In the fall or winter, you can catch the St. Louis Blues heating up the ice at the Scottrade Center or watch the Rams take to the field at the Edward Jones Dome. No matter what time of year, visitors can get a taste of true team spirit in this bona fide sports town.

4) Taste the tradition of St. Louis breweries
Take a tour of the historic Anheuser-Busch Brewery where you can visit the Budweiser Clydesdales and sample a variety of premium brands. For more local flavor, stop by Schlafly Bottleworks for a free brewery tour and to try a few of the 50 different styles of beer. Enjoy live music and dining at both the Bottleworks and the Schlafly Tap Room. For a taste of something new, stop by one of St. Louis’ many microbreweries such as the Square One Brewery & Distillery, which opened in 2006 as the first microdistillery restaurant in Missouri.

5.) Enjoy the magic of live theater
There’s no place finer than the Fabulous Fox for dazzling live theater, where you can catch the Broadway bug with a play, concert or dance troupe. Hear your favorite classical music performed by the renowned St. Louis Symphony at Powell Hall, or see an award-winning musical at Stages St. Louis. Immerse yourself in operatic drama at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, or experience classic and modern playwrights at the Repertory Theater or the newly renovated Peabody Opera House. Bathe in moonlight during an outdoor show at Forest Park’s The Muny, the nation’s largest outdoor amphitheater dedicated solely to musical theater.

6) Metro-Link
You don’t need a car for a great date in St Louis. In fact, with all the construction and traffic, you may even score green points from your date for choosing alternative transportation. A date is like an interview, so make choices that reflect who you really are. If you’re concerned about the environment, let your date know, not just from your words but your actions, too.

7) Head Outdoors
Whether it’s a hike at one of St. Louis’ Parks, picking apples at a Eckert’s Farm, live outdoor concert, you won’t find a shortage of outdoor fun in the St. Louis Metro area.  Best or all, most of it is free or inexpensive.

8) Plan Ahead
Aim for a date that shows you put some thought into it. Check out the River Front Times. The weekly circular is available on-line   as well as in boxes around town. The free, but priceless pages list St. Louis events including theater  sports, museums, live music, dining, free events and more.

9) Learn to Dance
Ask a friend or take some lessons. There are countless clubs and bars with dance floors in the St. Louis Metro Area. Put your best foot forward with a little preparation. Don’t have time for a lesson? Confidence counts. Just let the music move you and give yourself over to the groove.

10) Relax
If it doesn't fit, don’t force it. Above all else, dating should be a fun way to meet people and share new experiences. Be yourself for your best chance at finding your real soul mate.

Emotional Unavailability

The term "emotionally unavailable" usually refers to those who create barriers between themselves and others in an effort to avoid emotional intimacy. Relationships with emotionally unavailable people are often depressing and distressing, as their partners end up feeling neglected, unloved and unwanted. Emotionally unavailable people will actually seek out relationships with others, but the problems begin when they are unable to commit fully to their relationships.

Because emotionally unavailable people often behave as if they want to be in a relationship, it’s important to be able to recognize the signs that a person is emotionally unavailable.

10 Signs of Someone Unavailable Emotionally

Here’s a list of more subtle red flags that may signal unavailability, especially when several add up. They apply to both genders.

1. Flirting with flattery. Men who are too flattering may also be adept listeners and communicators, like snake charmers. Often good at short-term intimacy, some lure with self-disclosure and vulnerability, but they prefer the chase to the catch.

2. Control. Someone who won’t be inconvenienced to modify his or her routine. Typically, commitment phobics are inflexible and loathe compromises. Relationships revolve around them.

3. Listen. Your date may hint or even admit that he or she isn’t good at relationships or doesn't believe in or isn't ready for marriage. Listen to these negative facts and believe them. Ignore vulnerability, bragging, and compliments.

4. The past. Find out if the person has had a long-term relationship and why it ended. You may learn that prior relationships ended at the stage when intimacy normally develops.

5. Perfection seekers. These people look for and find a fatal flaw in the opposite sex and then move on. The problem is that they’re scared of intimacy. When they can’t find imperfection, their anxiety rises. Given time, they will find an excuse to end the relationship. Don’t be tempted to believe you’re better than their past partners.

6. Anger. Notice rudeness to waiters and others, revealing pent-up rage. This type of person is demanding and probably emotionally abusive.

7. Arrogance. Avoid someone who brags and acts cocky, signaling low self-esteem. It takes confidence to be intimate and committed.

8. Lateness. Chronic lateness is inconsiderate, and can also indicate the person is avoiding a relationship, but don’t assume that punctuality means he or she’s a catch.

9. Invasiveness or evasiveness. Secrecy, evasiveness, or inappropriate questions too soon about money or sex, for example, indicate a hidden agenda and unwillingness to allow a relationship to unfold. Conversely, someone may conceal his or her past due to shame, which may create an obstacle to getting close.

10. Seduction. Beware of sexual cues given too early. Seducers avoid authenticity because they don’t believe they’re enough to keep a partner. Once the relationship gets real, they’ll sabotage it. Seduction is a power play and about conquest.

Most people reveal their emotional availability early on. Pay attention to the facts, especially if there’s mutual attraction. Even if the person seems to be Mr. or Mrs. Right, yet is emotionally unavailable, you’re left with nothing but pain. If you overlook, deny, or rationalize to avoid short-term disappointment, you run the risk of enduring long-term misery.

I will be available for phone & chat sessions throughout the day and evening.

First Quarter Moon

Friday evening, the First Quarter Moon, the midpoint between new moon and full moon, occurs when the Sun in late Capricorn squares off with the Aries Moon. There is a crisis theme surrounding any quarter Moon phase, as we feel compelled to take action. Shortly after, we are made aware of how our actions affect those close to us, perhaps through trial and error. Whatever project or initiative we began at the New Moon last week is now off the ground, and it may face its first obstacles.

Think back to the New Moon, what projects were started at that time?  Facing any obstacles or challenges at this time?   If you need assistance, I will be available for phone & chat sessions throughout the day and evening.

Tick Tock

Does the watch upon your wrist own you or your life?  Do you look at the numbers of the digital clock change and feel like you must hurry?  Tick tock, tick tock...does it feel as if time is slipping away from you?  Even now, I just bet you have glanced at the time at least once--wondering how much longer til you have to get the kids ready, leave for work, til lunchtime, or your next meeting.  Whatever the case may be keep this in mind...

You are meant to have breaths of delights in your life--not be a slave to a band of numbers upon your wrist or flashing neon numbers on your desk.  For just one hour today, pay no attention to "tick tock".  Banish all thoughts of time from your mind and your lips.  Watch your mind slow to a place of rest and tranquility -a place where new thoughts & ideas are born.

I will be available for phone & chat sessions throughout the day and evening.

Fresh Energy of Aries Moon!

With the Moon entering Aries, later this morning, it brings fresh energy to the day. The Moon rules the emotional self, so when the Moon is in Aries, watch out! Aries Moon is not known for restraint. They are impulsive and enthusiastic. If an idea strikes them, they are the first on the bandwagon to make it reality, without stopping to think about any obstacles that may be in the way. Spontaneous and determined, they let their heart rule their head.

This energy will cause most of us to be happy, optimistic,  impatient, with a strong desire to live for the moment!  Instant gratification is the theme for the day!  It's a day to express how you feel, to be confident, self-assured--you will make a strong impression!  Subtle does not describe the Aries Sign. Aries are well-suited to meeting challenges that may destroy lesser people. They are clever and often approach their situations with a novel angle.

On the down side of the Moon in Aries you may have a problem differentiating between a need and a want. If you want it, you may feel you need it with all your being. This can be a problem for overspending or other vices. Be careful in these areas.

What are your plans for channeling and making the most of this fresh energy today?   I will be available for phone & chat sessions throughout the day.

Fear of Change

When facing changes in your life and you wish to hold tightly to the past; worry, manipulate, and fight against change it is a sign of fear and mistrust.  This entire process makes you weary, tired, and discouraged.  It is only when you let go and trust God that He is working things out His way--for your higher good.  Have compassion and patience with yourself and others when this happens.

The remedy for this tendency is to allow God's nurturing soothing love surround you.  After all, when a person tries to have control and power over everything in an attempt to resist change they most often feel out of control.  If you stop, sit quietly and listen to your inner voice you will hear God's beckoning call for you to stop resisting and let Him work it out.  Then, and only then, will you be free of the fear that binds you to the old way!

Absolute Endings & New Beginnings

In order to live life successfully today and move toward the future that the universe intends for us, we must step out of the past. If we don't our past will color and taint everything we see and affect all that we do. If rejection and pain has been a part of your past and you haven't released and completed the healing process, you will experience every situation, event, circumstance, or person through the eyes of rejection.

This past few months have been filled with numerous absolute endings for me; people have been removed from my life, circumstances have changed unexpected and swiftly, and I sense a clearing of the decks for new opportunities, adventures, and spiritual growth. As difficult and scary as change may be--going from the known to the unknown is a daunting task even for an adventurous spirit like me--stepping out of the past is a necessary part of our spiritual growth.

One of the biggest problems we tend to have with moving out of the past is the unwillingness to forgive the people and events of our past. By refusing to forgive the past, we remain attached and prisoners of the past. Personally, I have spent the better part of this past year practicing what I teach by focusing on forgiveness and releasing resentments. No longer a prisoner of my past, I am looking forward to a wonderful new future. As I move forward into 2013, I do so with a sense of wonderment &  awe, anxious to see what lies ahead for me!

No longer is the past interfering with opportunities and adventures before me--I am finally experiencing a true sense of freedom. I am truly embracing the fact I am who I am...ever changing, evolving, learning, growing, and simply experience "life" and all that it entails!

A New Moon occurs in Capricorn today. This symbolizes a new beginning in the cardinal earth sign of Capricorn. During a New Moon phase something new is born; or the "seeding" of something new. We are acting with spontaneity, from a place of instinct. All information has not been revealed to us yet. There is no objectivity at this point in the cycle. It's a good time for doing something new, but because we are lacking in information at this time, it is a risky time for important new endeavors, such as the beginning of a new business or relationship. It's not a time for making solid commitments or promises, as new information may emerge later on that could change our minds. It's a good time for making wishes or coming up with new ideas.

What seeds will you plant today?  I will be available for phone & chat services throughout the day and evening!   I look forward to connecting soon!
