Stepping Out of the Past

In order to live life successfully today and move toward the future that the universe intends for us, we must step out of the past. If we don't our past will color and taint everything we see and affect all that we do. If rejection and pain has been a part of your past and you haven't released and completed the healing process, you will experience every situation, event, circumstance, or person through the eyes of rejection.

This past few months have been filled with numerous absolute endings for me; people have been removed from my life, circumstances have changed unexpected and swiftly, and I sense a clearing of the decks for new opportunities, adventures, and spiritual growth. As difficult and scary as change may be--going from the known to the unknown is a daunting task even for an adventurous spirit like me--stepping out of the past is a necessary part of our spiritual growth.

One of the biggest problems we tend to have with moving out of the past is the unwillingness to forgive the people and events of our past. By refusing to forgive the past, we remain attached and prisoners of the past. Personally, I have spent the better part of this past year practicing what I teach by focusing on forgiveness and releasing resentments. No longer a prisoner of my past, I am looking forward to a wonderful new future. As I approach my birthday next month, I do so with a sense of wonderment & awe, anxious to see what lies ahead for me!

No longer is the past interfering with opportunities and adventures before me--I am finally experiencing a true sense of freedom. I am truly embracing the fact I am who I am...ever changing, evolving, learning, growing, and simply experience "life" and all that it entails!
